Dar Al Manajim (DARMCO) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rashed Al Rashed & Sons Group with operations in Jeddah and Summan. The company was established in 2007 as a Mining and IndusJ trial Minerals company and has opened two of the most modern and largest quarrying operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with capacities of 3 million tons in Summan and 6.3 million tons in Jeddah as well as an Asphalt Plant and Contracting gangs with over 0.5 million tons capacity. The company produces all ranges of aggregates and armour rock to any specification required from our customers. DARMCO have within their operational portfolio, asphalt manufacturing and contractJ ing operations with the first operation being based in Jeddah from the companies Briman quarry. In order to ensure a high quality, continuous aggregate supply, an essential component of quality asphalt products, DARMCO first established its aggregate operations prior to beginning asphalt operations. In order to ensure continuous quality, both for aggregates and asphalt, the company has established testing laboratories on the sites to ensure all products manufactured are of the highest quality before leaving our premises and being delivered to our valued customers. It is DARMCO opinion that quality must be ensured prior to dispatch and not rectified after a mistake is discovered.

Nael Odeh, the Asphalt & Contracting General Manager brings over 25 years of experience in mining and contracting operations to the business. Previously, as regional director for an international company, based in Dubai he oversaw mining and contracting operations in the UAE and Oman. With over 25 laying gangs and through 10 asphalt plants, the operations were laying over 2.5 million tons of asphalt a year with prestigious projects being a major part of the operations portfolio. These include but are not limited to:

  • PALM ISLAND – Dubai, major truck roads, interconnecting tunnel, all palm fond roads.
  • Emirates road – Dubai, Arabian ranches interchange, the largest in the UAE.
  • UAE Military – Al Dahfra airbase, runways, taxiways & aprons.
  • Abu Dhabi airport, runway.
  • Al Khail road – Dubai.
  • Dubai Autodrome, racing circuit with parabolic curves.
  • YAS Island, Formula 1 racing circuit.
  • Large municipality road projects in Oman.

Niaz Bahadur Khan, the senior asphalt surfacing supervisor has previously worked with the GM Asphalt Division in Dubai and has come to Saudi Arabia to oversee all asphalt laying operations for DARMCO, as have two complete asphalt laying gangs. Their experiences in asphalt laying are immense and include all of the above projects.

Wael Jahfari, the DARMCO technical manager brings to the business over 10 years of Saudi Arabia experience in the roads, contracting and concrete industries and will be directly responsible for all technical aspects of the asphalt manufacturing process. The technical aspects of the asphalt process will be monitored from initial aggregates manufacture, through mix designs and all the way to final asphalt manufacture through the companies highly equipped, on site, asphalt and aggregate laboratories. These laboratories will ensure that all components meet required specifications as well as ensuring the plant is regularly calibrated to ensure accurate delivery of constituent parts in the asphalt process.

Engineer Khalid Abouras (Road construction Manager), Engineer Abdul Aziz (Site Engineer), Engineer Rasheed Ahmad (Chief Surveyor) has a immense and wide experience in Asphalt and contracting Operations to the business.
